I love my Charge Plug Freestyler. I have changed a few things like the bars but other than that its stock. I usually run it fixed but sometimes singlespeed by way of the flip-flop hub.
The ones from Create seems quite nice, also I think Mongoose do a nice one as do Subrosa....

^ Nah i've got the 2008 one from a couple of years before they introduced belt drive. If i could have a new one i would in flash. Lovely zingy steel frame.

Giant Bowery - good stiff BB area so more of your drive goes to the rear instead of flexing frame. Can't see it on the website now. There's a thing called the Chixie

Why a fixie? Why not just a singlespeed road bike?
How many fixies with flat pedals!!?
Do people not like their shins or calves?
Rarely do my toestraps up, or ride with SPD's and trainers on mine sometimes. No problem if you pedal an nice circular action, even downhill.
Anyhow, back on topic, Genesis Day One for the win.

The Fuji Classic Track is a great bike for the money. Wheelset isn't great though. The pic above is of the 650b version hence the weird looking dimensions. Here's the 700c.

The Fuji Classic Track is a great bike for the money.
I've done a few 100mile + day rides on mine. Comfortable.
Not sure why fixie, but it's what he says he wants!
Style wise he loves the look of the Orbea Dude (www.orbea.com/gb-en/bicis/familias/dude/)
or the Foffa bikes (www.foffabikes.com)
Price - not sure prob around the £500 mark this time.
Used for commuting and getting out for some fun rides. Long distance will be done on his road bike, so prob up to about 30 miles on the fixie.
