The GF & I want a 4-5 day break in Scotland or Northumberland, 2 days or so biking but no trail centres just natural trails, & something to see or do when not biking.
Where should we go & stay in early October, pref B&B or Hotel.

Rothbury, Alwinton for the Cheviots. Coast for days off...
Cheers.
Any recommended places to stay?
Warkworth on the Northumbria coast, just up from Amble.

Nice and friendly accomodation, near enough to loads of trails, go a little further afield for the Cheviots. Loads of local walking, lovely village with 3 decent pubs and food.
Alan.
Don't go to the Black Bull in Warkworth. The owners a BNP member...

West coast of Scotland. Climb Ben Nevis, go to Mull/Iona/Arran/Skye etc. Good riding around Fort William.
Really good time of year to go as well - no midges, still warm, cheap accommodation, lovely people.
