I currently have a pair of Rockshox Reba forks and find them a bit flexy sometimes, so I was wondering whether the longer travel revelation fork was built with stronger lowers and therefore a bit stiffer? Any one have experience with both in 29er form?
I just swapped out a 120mm Reba Team for a 130mm Rev RL on my Honzo.
Much prefer the Rev although i can't say if one is stiffer than the other as i have not noticed to be honest. I would say that the Rev feels like a nicer fork though and the added space to fit slightly bigger tyres (or extra space to fit a fender bender in the winter) is a bonus.
Both forks are 20mm Maxle though so if you're comparing a QR Reba then the Maxle Rev should be lots stiffer.
I've got 15mm maxle Rebas and 20mm maxle Revs.
The Revs are stiffer, but heavier obviously.
Bolt through axle makes a big difference though - swapped to the Rebas from Fox and it was surprisingly more solid.
The Rebas have a 20mm axle so they have as much help as they're going to get. Maybe I need to be looking at wheels, they flex a bit too?!
