[#1788287]

A few months ago I built up an Orange R8 and put a Maxxis Larson TT on the back, and an old Conti Gravity on the front. It's been raining for days up here in Scotland so all the dry and dusty trails have turned to mud. The Larson isn't going to cope too well with my local mud and roots.

Any personal experience with a good mud and roots rear tyre would be nice to hear about. I don't need an all rounder tyre as I'll keep the Larson for when/if the trails dry out again.

Thanks for your help.

Maybe I'll run just a rear tube and no tyre.

Tyre-less, it's the way forward ๐Ÿ™‚ Eliminates rotating weight, easier to fix punctures, cheaper. No probs with sidewalls splitting either.

*goes and reads all the old tyre threads again*

No, what you need to do is chop a large dog in half and use the hindquarters in place of the rear wheel, good traction in the wet.
