I have been donated a kids Ridgeback bike. The only part missing is the bolt to attach the rear mech.

Can anybody tell me what it is I need to attach it?

Many thanks

It is from a much later mech than the one you have but it should fit

I seem to remember from something a colleague said years ago that a chainset bolt might fit

Any 10mm nut and bolt and washer with the bolt head inside the drop-out will work.
If the head is too deep, file it down.
I have this on a retro frame where the thread is stripped, so got exactly the same mech as you show here and bolted it on 6 years ago.
Job done.
