Hello Everyone

just doing some research as I’m currently in the process of having some wheels built up for my bike.
So in an ideal world hope hubs would be great but unfortunately I don’t live in an ideal world. So I’m settling for shimano.

My options are Xt M756 or Deore M525A.

from experience what would people recommend baring in my I’ve been using the cheap giant hub for the past 3 years in all weathers, serviced it once and it’s never given a wink of bother and is still play free and silk smooth.

Thanks

Tom

What are you hoping to achieve by changing your hub if it’s already working fine?
I use Shimano hubs on my xc bike as I feel they roll better but they are cup and cone style so a bit more faff for bearing maintenance.

you’ll probably also need new spokes too as they’ll likely need to be a different length

Because I’m building total fresh new wheels. Better rims, more spokes, etc etc.  old wheels will be used on another project.
