does anyone know what axle length on rear wheel should be?
a mate has one and rear keeps popping out and on inspection the axle is only in the dropouts by 1-2 threads! hence why wheel pops, ive tried googling it but type in HJ and im now inundated wit porn!!
any help/solutions would be good cheers
The OLN - Over lock nut width will be 135, same as on all normal, modern mountain bikes. The axle should be about 11mm longer than thatm so 146mm.
Has the hub been serviced at all? Might not have been put back together properly. Or the frame is bent.
yeah i was thinking along those lines as the axle length was same as mine at 144mm, and its an old 2nd hand frame 😕
Thing is the quick release should squish it all together anyway.
Check the OLN of the hub. Or try another wheel in there?
Or is the QR a bit rubbish?
If the qr is holding properly then 1-2mm axle in the dropout should still hold.
yeah he is going to rreplace the QR 1st, and see how it goes. cheers
