Hi,

I've just put my crankset on my other bike and now there seems to be a huge gap that needs filling by the bearing preload adjuster. Why is this? I definitely have the correct spacers in place, but the gap is mammoth.

Just to confirm: it's a 73mm BB shell and I have one 2.5mm spacer on the drive side, yes?

Is it perhaps that the XTR BB is slightly wider than the Hope BB I've moved it onto?

Cheers

Chris

Thanks guys, I worked it out: The bearing cover from the drive side was still stuck onto my other chainset.

Also, I remembered that the spacers from Hope are made from rubber and so squash a bit when they're tightened hard. Why are these spacers made from rubber? Is it to provide a better seal?

Thanks again

Yes Terry, my scale is staying in the UK this summer so thought I'd make the most of my XTR chainset this summer and put it on my guide bike. It proved more difficult than I thought, but should work now.

I've also raped the scale of its XTR shifters too. I know it has to be working again very quickly after the season as I have two races in the first two weekends back.
