Have a Rapha gift voucher to spend, really like the designs of some of the Rapha Pro Team Training jerseys, but am put off by the "ideally suited to training in warm to mild conditions" description.

Are they super breezy sort of lightweight mesh type lycra? If I'm being honest it would probably see more use out on the open Perthshire hillsides on the gravel bike than any sort of hard training miles...

I have a couple of those and they are certainly far lighter weight than the regular Core Jersey. Ive only worn mine in what I class as a 'hot' conditions, mid summer >20C but then I run relatively hot anyway.

I wouldn't describe them as a mesh, but they are pretty light in the scheme of things. Much closer to a 'normal' lycra jersey than their classic or brevet jerseys. I have some similar material jerseys from Morvelo and Le Col, pretty much just for summer sunshine road use.

I save Rapha for shorts (excellent) and base layers (corny but also nice). My only long sleeved jersey is a FF500 Winter Core. The problem I found is that they assume riders have two elbows per arm to remove stuff from the rear pockets. Club Champion jerseys are much better. New club aero jersey is the same sort of mesh as Pro Team. Cold.

If you’ve no other Rapha kit Buy a Classic jersey (or one of the variants made of the same smart wool fabric).

It 110 but something flashed up about saving 20% (maybe newsletter signup).

Ah well, vanity over-ruled common sense and I plumped for one of the Legion of Los Angeles tops, I've been looking for a slightly more neutral looking top for gravel riding rather than my usual garish Euro-road team look. I figured it would be OK after weighing one of my preferred riding tops and comparing to a weight in the road.cc review. Thankfully my wife is now well used to finding me weighing random bike kit in the kitchen scales... 😂

Size large is 'neat' but wife seemed to like it so I'm guessing I've got the figure for it (or she's pleased that no other trailside ladies will find the over-stuffed sausage look attractive) and most importantly it's not really all that lightweight, given that I wear a gilet over most of my tops 90% of the time I think it's a winner.
