As above, is anyone using the Lomo tail bag? I've bought one but my rack is to narrow - tortec ultralite - and the straps wont do up around it as they overlap too much to get a fixing on the velcro.

I could do with a wider rack but not sure what works with the bag and don't want to sped too much as its only for commuting about 7 miles.

Couple of longer voile straps or similar?

The bag sits on velcro straps that fix to the rack and then it has clips that secure the bag, unfortunatley when I fit the straps around my rack it overlaps too much and won't fix to itself. I could use other straps but it kind of defeats to object of the bag.

Although, looking at that photo, I might not have looped the straps round enough....i.e. back over the top. Hmm, maybe I'm just being thick. Will have to have another go when I get home!

Ha, ha, carry on...

I'm using one on a front rack, specialized Pizza Rack, had a similar overlap problem to ads on one of my straps, emailed Lomo and sent the strap back to them and they adjusted the position of the velcro for me for free.

Watch the video about the bag on their site. Shows fitting it to a bicycle rack at the end. You don't do up the straps the way you imagine.

I have the same rack and bag and can get it to work

Yeah, just re-watched it and think I need to wrap it round again to shorten the strap before threading it through the buckle. Do you find it fairly stable @youguitarhero?

Aye, stable enough. But it's only on my road bike so not really tried on a mountain bike

I have that bag on a Blackburn rack

I wrapped the straps round an extra loop to effectively shorten them. Have you tried this?

Yeah, I ended up with an extra loop around the outer frame tube to get it to fit properly. Also lowered my rack a bit to get it under the saddle.

It's on my gravel bike but only for commuting along flat tow path so won't be thrown about. Although I'll have to pack it well as it's going to have lap top and other work bits and the lap top doesn't quite fit flat so will be at an angle inside....

Yes but using it with a Metro Porteur front rack that is deeper than a rear rack is wide. I also rarely us the velcro thing and just loop the straps round the front and sides of the rack. Works well for this.
