I thought my wet feet would be a thing of the past since fitting SKS Long boards to my commuter, but it appears I still have a problem!
Water appears to be travelling up the guard with the wheel until it reaches the uppermost guard stay. It then hits the stay mount on the inside of the guard and exits in the direction of my feet!
Suggestions?
Any commuterists on this morning that can help?
That's not the experience I've had with longboards. Do you have them fitted close enough to the tyre?
Waterproof shoes/ overshoes?
Was wearing Endura MT500 overshoes. Maybe they could go closer to the tyre, but the clips that hold the extension flaps at the end appear to be a limiting factor.

Not sure what you mean by that.

There is a rubber flap at the end of the front guard to add another few inches of protection. That's mounted to the guard with a plastic bullet shapped spring clip - it protrudes towards the tyre and isn't flush with the rest of the guard. It just means that the guard won't fit quite as close as I'd like without this part touching the tyre.
Might be some room for a bit more adjustment though - i.e. to get it a touch closer.
Some old boys that I used to ride with in our club moved the stay mounting strip of metal for this very reason. I don't know about this particular model but the strip is usually mounted inside the guard i.e. within the U channel of the guard, they had mounted the strip on the outside so it didn't channel the water down the stay.
