doesn't look tapered from any pictures i've seen, anyone know?
Not
good god. so its straight 1 1/8?
Sorry, I'd had a few last night.
The head tube is a straight 1 1/8 so non-tapered.
Great frame, love my Piglet 🙂
That's a bit of a shame. Thinkin of putting one together on a budget an most of the 2nd hand forks I'm lookin at are tapered. Size wise are they a bit weird ie I'm 5-9 so would need a 16in?
Yes, they are a little strange, it's the top tube length that's more critical than the seat tube. I'm 5'11" and ride a 17" frame. The top tube is the same length as my 19" rockhopper.
You should find plenty of 1 1/8 forks out there, it's still a pretty common standard. I use 120mm Rebas. There were a lovely set 2012 ones on eBay the other day for £200
Edit - just found these for you, bargain! Click me
I'd prob need a 16in then it sounds. I've got a 19in rockhopper and I'm changing it cos its a bit too big. was looking at those forks last night, which prompted another thread I've just started about 100-120 conversion.
If it's the same size headtube that's on the Blue Pig (44mm), you can put a tapered or straight steerer on it. I'm using a Hope 2H pick'n'mix headset on my pig and that'll fit a tapered steerer. You can use the same headset with their crown reducer to fit a straight steerer too, so you can swap forks withour buying a whole new headset.
I thought exactly the same, but according to the old data sheet its a 1,1/8 standard headtube...
I thought Ragley had adopted the 44mm headtube for all their bikes. The Piglet Ti I read about a while back has one. Maybe they didn't do it to the standard Piglet. Might be worth emailing them to find out.
was really surprised...
but the Ragley Ti had also a 1,1/8 ..
Believe me, it's 1 1/8 on the piglet. I have one!
I believe you !
was tempted to buy one in spring and was wrong about that..
