Raceface Aeffect SL Cranks Compatible with XT BB??

Struggling to find supply of raceface BB spares. So forgive me if this is a daft question, but will the cranks work with a standard shiamno XT BB instead??

Yeah, they have a normal 24mm spindle, so no reason to use RaceFace BBs which are terrible

Yes any 24mm BB is good.

My Aeffect spindle was slightly more girthy than Shimano ones, so it would take off the top hat seal on Shimano BBs.

Swapped to Shimano SLX cranks now.

I have this too. need to gently tap, keeping and eye on the BB top hat and tapping that back in if it moves, rather than whack the axle through.

no problems with an enduro bb (without top hats)

I’ve found the top hat thing is as much down to the step in the race face axle snagging the top hat- get it square and it’s not usually a problem.
