OK, I have spoken to my local bike shop and the part I am looking for for my cranks is out of stock and has a wait time of 4-5 weeks! So any turbine owners (or Deus/ride) could you please help! I need the measurements (outer/inner diameters and thickness) of the main crank bolt washer.

http://wheelworld.com/m/product/race-face-turbine-next-xc-sixc-and-2008-deus-crank-bolt-puller-222191-1.htm

You can see the spacer in the above link. If anyone can help with this then I can try to find a match or get a local machine shop to make one.

Thanks in advance,

John

It .seems silverfish have a good few of them in stock might be worth a call to them yourself.

Went to look for you and have taken the drive side crank off but can't see how to get central puller component out of the spider. It certainly doesn't drop out is just spins round.

Bruce,
Have you got the standard 4 arm Turbine or the cinch?

You can just buy the ride one and use either the whole bolt or the washer.... I think the fit is the same (99%)

That's the one Bruce! You need to remove the end cap with a 10mm Allen key and then you can take the bolt with it's washer (don't lose it!) out.

You are right Ben, it's the same as a few of the cranks and they use the same spare part. I tried active sport and they are out as well. I phoned silverfish to see if they might have a spare from the workshop that I could blag but no joy. 4-5 weeks seems crazy!

Sorry I also meant ride use a different bolt, no extractor cap - so different part number.

Out of interest, what happened to your original one? I ask because my Race Face Aeffect crank came loose last weekend and I was wondering if it's common problem. [Remembers he still needs to add threadlock to the bolt]

V8-no idea! I'm usually very careful taking stuff apart but stripped it all out to service it then put it back together and noticed that the bolt went in much further than before. Took it apart and realised the washer was gone. I have done some tidying in the cellar recently so am worried that it has been swept away. I can't find it anywhere which is really annoying me! I stripped the whole bike apart for a bit if a clen so it was apart for a few days as stuff gor cleaned individually and reassembled.

I can pick up one from my spare set of Deus tomorrow and post out. You then post it back ASAP when your new one arrives?

PM me if you want to take me up on that.

Thank Jam but Bruce has beat you to it! Bruce, thank you! I have had a word with a local Engineering workshop and they are going to knock one up for me. I'll give them the sizes.

Thanks for the help guys, really appreciated.

Just picked up a freshly machined stainless steel one for a couple of quid and some Haribo. Anyone in need of similar bits, the guys at SB engineering in Exeter were awesome.

Thanks for the help,

John
