Before I go hunting out somewhere that has these in stock, is there anything else I should be looking at to replace my aged Kyle Straits?
I have some and like them a lot, I love being able to pull them off without undoing my shoes, at the end of the ride. If I bought them again I'd be struggling to choose between them, the longer flank leg version or the RF Roam with hard shell (but if cost was main issue, just go Ambush). As I have a light weight set of pads for general riding but these are really for when I'm out doing bigger stuff or bikeparks, so more protection is no bad thing.
I have a pair of Ambush pads. Not as good as my 5 pairs of Kyle Straits but they’re alright. The best thing about them is you can remove them with your shoes still on.
I’d kill for another pair of Kyle Straits though.
A friend who is quite kit intense has them and rates them a lot. Tried his and they felt nice on and really like the strap on and off fitting. The Kyle Straits have always been my anything and everything pads so these will most likely be the same.
