Looking to get myself a set of Race Face Ambush Elbow D30 Guards as I find my current Troy Lee EG5550 in large to be a bit too tight.

Looking at the sizing chart for the RF Ambush's has their larges being about the same size, but I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with them as sizing of elbow guards can vary wildly from manufacturer to manufacturer.

Go to shop that stocks them.
Try some on.
Buy the size that fits best.

Would love to but work is currently prohibiting getting anywhere near a shop before the weekend, which is when ideally I'd like to have them for riding.

In fact quick look on my local shops website shows they only have it available in XXLarge so wouldn't be much help anyhow.

I have both the knee and elbow pads they are great and extremely comfortable. They come up small I have skinny arms but needed the xl, same with the knee pads.
