So I had a go with Strava this morning, and there's an option to Share my ride. What exactly would I be sharing here? The map of my route starts and ends at my front door, which is not something I really want to put on the internet.
Is it just the relevant segments that get shared or the whole thing?

The whole thing, but you can specify a radius around a certain point that won't be shared. It's in your privacy settings.

Yeah, it's really good to see one of the ride logging apps finally do this. I've been on at everytrail to do this for a while since if they did, I'd make all my rides public which would then make the site more useful for others since they'd be able to find new routes locally. As it is, I keep them all to myself.
