We've never been to the area and hear the riding is not very good but undetered will be heading west this weekend for a couple of days riding on them thar hills.
I have the OS map and the route guide for the area but any 'must do' bits would be appreciated as well as camping advice, ie a good spot with decent pubs nearby.
Looking forward to it already!
There's a nice campsite in Holford at Moorehouse Farm, handy for the trails, good pub (although I haven't been recently). I like Holford Combe and Hodders Combe, not very techy but good fun, lots of stream related action. There's some nice tracks just NW of Dead Woman's Ditch, not on the map ๐
Moorehouse Farm + 1
Was there a couple of weeks ago, very good - especially the "wet room" stylee showers ๐
moorehouse is good
Good trails are stert combe, somerton combe ,slaughterhouse combe , weacombe combe , smiths combe all as downs . Good ups are beacon hill, bicknoller combe and holford-ladys combe. As\always a local guide is best.
a couple of my routes here http://www.pjk.fpic.co.uk/get_password.php?id=1819596&ref=coll

Exmoor rather than Quantocks but would recommend Burrowhayes Farm near Porlock. Within 30 mins drive from Quantocks and direct access onto Exmoor trails so best of both worlds. 20 minute walk into Porlock village for pubs. Killer hill on way back though!
Thanks for the tips guys.
Knottie, already got your route saved from an earlier search!
Lots of options on the map so plenty of getting lost/not following inteneded route methinks. Pah! Local knowledge-who needs it ๐
A few votes for Moorhouse farm then. Will try and check it out.
