Hopefully someone's been through the same search for a solution... I'm riding a 2019 Specialized Chisel and occasionally get on to trails where it's worth dropping the seat. Stopping short of going for a dropper post just yet, I hoped to swap out the seat clamp for a quick release but cannot find one that fits. The width needed is 30.8mm which falls between common sizes available in the ususal places.
Does anyone know where to source a 30.8mm QR seat clamp, or have a cunning plan to make it work another way?
The width needed is 30.8mm
That's the seat post size, not the seat tube size. The seat tube is bigger than the seat post. I think it will be a 34.9 mm clamp.

No, the seat post size is 27.2mm. The clamp size needed is 30.8mm. I'm aware they're less common sizes

Did you measure it with calipers? Spesh have been using 30.9 mm seatposts for many years.
Yes I'm sure. Besides the fact it's written on it, I have tried a 31.8mm clamp that is too loose - you can see their own spec here https://www.specializedconceptstore.co.uk/product/13658/2019-men-s-chisel-expert/
Have you tried a shim under the clamp?
Salsa do / did the Flip-Lock in 30.6mm which you might get away with.. available here (but only in pink).
Looks good thanks - website says to get in touch if you need a size not listed so I’ve done that. Fingers crossed.
Is it possible to cannibalize a QR to convert your existing clamp?
It's so narrow that I can't get existing QR bolt to work. Similarly using a shim kind of works but stops me using it as an easy to way to lower/raise seat quickly on trails.
How about a cheap dropper post with the lever under the saddle. We got a Decathlon one for £50
In my Spesh camber manual it recommended the Salsa QR if you didn't want the spesh one.
I'll look into that - dropper post definitely on shopping list but again, the narrower than usual seat post (27.2mm) limits choice. There's a good youtube tutorial on one that works well with the Chisel though.
