Following this thread on RS tuning, curious on thoughts when it comes to the Fox side of things.

Could understand the benefits in the days of shitty CTD dampers but given everyone seems pretty positive about the Fit 4 performance these days, is there much benefit to be had from a push tune or similar?

Is it still a thing? Haven't heard of it for a long time.

TF Tuned are still big on it. I spoke to them recently about fork service and was immediately getting pushed towards a push tune.

Depends if the fit4 damper does what you want. Push is just a glorified reshim but it's not much more expensive to get it done during a service for most products.

TF Push tuned my RP23 for my 5010 2 services ago, it changed it from a shock that went squishy squishy and kinda did its job to one that is actually fun to ride with.

Performance gains are smaller than they used to be over stock, but still worth it at service time IMO.

These days I'd not rush out with a brand new fox and immediately get it pushed, I'd wait for its service interval to come around. The last time I pushed from new was 2005!

Best rear shock I ever rode was a coil Fox vanilla rc with a PUSH race tune. That thing just smoothed anything out on the dh's in Portes du solail.

No idea about the modern kit though.

Used to work great on Fox Van coil shocks yeah, more marginal gains on the posher models (air and coil).

Still wasn't as good as a twin-tube damper like the Cane Creek or X2, or even the Vivid Air.

Fox seem to offer a lot more tuning options for their oem shocks now, so Id guess that helps, getting things reshimmed for your weight and what you ride probably helps too though

(loco retuned my dhx coil in 2010ish? and it made a big difference)

I still have my pushed Van R. It's so old it's not worth anything, despite the great performance.

If you're off either end of the average weight scale, yes I'd say it's well worth it.

Mx tune gives you HSC and LSC as they change the piggy back. It's not cheap, 285 iirc but that includes a service.
