Mines updated now - expires Jan 2027 not 2026.

thanks man, yes my OS maps app has set itself to July 2026 now, good bargain as its worked ';~}

for anyone else wanting to know: OS do take 2-3 days to apply the membership extension.

I went for this deal in the end as well, it didn't show in the app straight away, but within 6-8 hours it has stacked the extra year on to my remaining credit.

Bargain, and thanks for the P.S.A.

Not bad at all for under £200. Torque Caps as standard. 1850g. Build quality seems extremely high although we will see on they fare on the trail.

Mine arrived. Look good. Torque caps. Is that a Rockshox only thing? Ok for me anyway.

fingers crossed. No idea where you’d get warranty. Or hub spares.

^ warranty with retailer I would assume. Spares? Aren't they not in business anymore? TBF I have never needed spare on wheels so far so not too bothered at that price if they are disposable after a few years.

youre right about the price. Proper bargain.
It would be nice to imagine freehub bodies might be available.
Might need good luck getting warranty on bike parts from sport and leisure.com I’d imagine!

Syntace are very much alive, 9 seconds on google lead me to their website. Direct to customer now, so spare from Germany.

always like their stuff, shame I can’t justify another pair of wheels

God damnit ive been doing well not-shopping recently but those wheels have proved too good to resist.

My justification is that my final pair of non boost (but boostinated) wheels are getting very tatty, and  also to the point they need some new bearings etc. I could easily end up spending £100 on sorting them out (bearings etc)

as long as you have a torque cap compatible fork! So not Fox AFAIK.
the ad doesn’t say, but the torque caps don’t look removable.

Exactly. They’re a great deal if you need new wheels but that’s never an £800 wheelset.

I admire the skepticism about those wheels. The fantasy RRP is utterly irrelevant, as they are £220 or £198 in my case. I reckon if you don't need new wheel then the best choice is to not buy new wheels.

Having said all that if they were £800 RRP then they would retail at £500 and quite frankly they would have been competitive at this price. The weight is not necessarily conducive of value either. Some heavy wheels are expensive because of other factors and particularly how much abuse they can take.

Having got mine I am astounded by the build quality, the machining and the engineering having gone into them. I recently bought some Roval Controls on 350 hubs for £333 at 60% off and they feel quite low rent in comparison.

I have some M1900 too and those feel very very cheap in comparison. And they are 200g heavier if that's important and they are sleeved. I think you would have to pay £350 for those though which suddenly feels very poor value.

And the only cheap thing about the Syntace is the price. They look, ride and feel VERY expensive.

Park Tool Shimano EP8 Lockring Tool for £24.25

If thats for the chainring - Are you finding that its undoing itself ?

Blue threadlock is going to be better for the parts than constantly trying to tighten it up

Trailvision up to 40% off bearings. Used these for years for frame and headset bearings. One of the few that are packed with marine grease

Nah my chainring is all good, just a decent price to get it in the toolbox!

YT DECOY eBike for £2.5k

Budget spec. Only in M or XL but would be a good starting point. Particularly if you've got nice forks/ wheels etc to swap onto it

^^ seems to be totally sold out

I wouldn't even say that spec needs any changes, it's incredibly solid

Re Syntace wheels, mine turned up today. First impressions very good. Nice tight and even build, quality seems excellent but time will tell on durability I guess.

I was slightly worried they would be a bit narrow but they're a decent width, slightly narrow than an xm481, should be good for trail/enduro unless you run really big tyres.

Hopefully I'll get them slung on my hardtail later this evening.

Edit: I also agree there's more to worry about than weight. I'd prefer a nice strong durable set of wheels that last. That said I'm hefty, no race snake, ride hard, and consequently I tend to break stuff

It wasn't when I posted. There were M and XL in stock but only in black. All showing as out of stock now though.

^ thanks for that. Is that tool strictly necessary to change a ring on a 12 speed XT chainset or can use a BB tool?

In the drive for more and more standards they are slightly different sizes and it is a little bit smaller.

You can get an anodised aluminium one on Ali express as well a bit cheaper

Deviate selling them at £100 each:

(although I'd check stock level with them first by calling/emailing).
