That is a ridiculously low price for winter boots. I dunno but haven't previous Planet X winter boots been well received?

^ good call, but I have to decline because of the narrow sizing. From previous experience, sizing up just shifts the problem. Shame, as my current Defrosters are gaffa taped and glued to the limit.

100% Briskers in all colours and sizes for £15 at Sportpursuit.

Also Brisker Extreme for the same price but only on small/medium. Fantastic cold-weather gloves, those.

https://www.sportpursuit.com/sales/100-percent-jan25?sp_nav=ct-11.ev-28985.

edit- worth noting that the ETA on my order placed today is mid-February. Which it doesn’t tell you until you’ve placed the order.

Fox fork update

Received a phone call today and the forks are indeed genuine but they did say they had never seen a pair with such poor finish on the lower legs and the brake mounts both need facing and they speculated that they may of been produced at the new factory in china not Taiwan as some lower end products have moved there but they were surprised they made in to the open market .

Fair play to them they offered to fully service them foc which they didn't need to do but I did decline and will get them back and send them back for a refund .

I'll upload pictures when they are back sk you can see I'm not been dramatic.

Thanks Dave. I think I bought the last L thanks to you. I promised I wouldn't do a new build this winter or even a frame swap and there you are, you singlehandedly made me brake that promise. At that price it would have been rude not to...

looks like these are the oversocks, as in go over your shoes, not the waterproof socks, just in case anyone clicks and thinks they will get socks with only one hole.

I've also bought one of the Fox 36's with the paint defect from Merlin. Should be delivered today or tomorrow so will post up a pic when they arrive. TBH though, I'm not really bothered what they look like as long as hey are genuine and the insides are what they should. I've bought them for a future bike park bike build that I'm gathering bits for, so not too bothered about weight either as it'll be mostly used for uplift sort of stuff.

Wondering if I should have gone for the basic ZEBs for £50 more though....

Got to love banana industries, the only website where you can get tyres, socks, lighters, fanny soap, olive oil, honey, a roof tent and some marine salvage all in the same place 😉

They are legit though, Ive used them a few times in the past.

Just received my Fox 36 Performance forks from Merlin with the paint defect. As far as I can see they are perfect apart from a bit of flaking around the axle hole. Few pics below.

Using the STW members discount Garmin currently have the Venu 2 Sq (Square) for £89.99 and the music edition (wifi and bluetooth so you can run without phone) for £101.99 - this is an GPS smart / trainer watch not far off the features of the Epix such as AMOLED screen, heart rate and Garmin Pay. I bought a Venu 2s for my daughter at £199.99 and thought it a bargain just picked up one of these for my son.

Sports Direct have lots of Pearl Izumi kit they are flogging off at bargain prices. I was looking to get another pair of Endura Singletrack lycra shorts but at over £50 a pop I had a look elsewhere. Pearl Izumi retail at £54 nice Mr Ashley is selling them for £17 a pair!

Just turned up , usual PI quality and a great fit 2 pairs £40 including postage, thumbs up .

@oldfart- how do the shorts size up? At 33-34” waist I’d usually be a large, but the PI sizing seems to suggest that a medium might be a better fit, with large being 34-37 inches

@kneebiscuit I vary between 32/34 depending on manufacturer the Large suit me fine , I hate them too tight but you might prefer that in which case maybe medium for you , does that help?

Just received my Merlin "paint second" 36s, paint is almost perfect except for a little flaw around the bolt-through, which tbh I suspect I'd have added myself after taking the wheel out a couple of times. Very pleased! Just need to find some ugly stickers for it now
