Anyone got any good deals on road helmets ? Bought a new bike need one to match the bike  – black/ white with silver accents

https://www.tradeinn.com/bikeinn/en/poc-omne-air-wf-mips-helmet/140248740/p?id_producte=140906820&country=UK&belboon=2501051109351210037&campaign=default&iclid=1-22b584bb-99f9-3c35-8035-bcf999bb84b5-a77370&utm_admedia=165043

This is pretty heavily reduced. Depends whether you like the orange bit. I've had it for four years (gravel/road) and really like it.

Huh, might actually do that- I like strava but the basic free product is good enough for me, so I usually sub for a couple of months a year just by way of "paying what seems fair for what I get". At £20 it still seems good value even if it could be free!

Amazon are selling the blue POC Omne MIPS helmet in Blue for just over £80. Sadly I need a large size and can't find one that cheap anywhere.

That Strava seems to be only valid if you use a Brazilian VPN.

That Strava seems to be only valid if you use a Brazilian VPN.

You only need to use the VPN whilst buying the gift card - then you disconnect to apply it to your account and that's that.

yes you go onto brazil, then gift it to yourself, from a secondary email, most people who are signed in to strava are struggling got to be signed out and let strava think you are overseas

Managed to gift myself 2 years worth of Strava at just over £20 each with PayPal's conversion... Haven't used a VPN before & it was coming up as £6.50ish in South African Dollars initially so I was hesitant but its all dandy now. Thanks guys.

Jamis Divide hardtail mountain bike for £195

looks like a "proper" mountain bike for BSO money - basic coil fork, microshift 7 speed gears and cable discs but all looks decent for real world budgets. 🙂

Saris H3 Direct Drive Trainer £299 from Blacks / Millets

Link

Not the newest of trainers but they were well reviewed at the time when costing £600.

I've bought one as I'm getting fed up of how choppy and slow my Tacx Vortex is. Suspect a direct drive trainer will be a huge improvement.

I was checking out Alpkit's outlet and found this bargain and a half:

https://alpkit.com/products/display-cortex-medium-battleship-gx-eagle-axs

Awesome little trail bike with GX AXS, the Pike Ultimate and a Cane Creek shock for £2,389. If I was in the market for a short travel MTB this would be gone already!

They've also got loads of hardtails for under or around a grand

My Cortex was from the outlet section in my local store. It's worth asking in person if they're able to do a deal, I got a good discount by haggling in store.

Mine came with an XT group set, Alpha 29 wheels, Helm Mk 2 fork, standard Rock Shox shock and I paid £2200 about 2 years ago.

Keep an eye on their eBay outlet store as well, I got the Cane Creek shock (same as the one on the bike you've shared) and only paid £199, it was £100 just to service the Rock Shox shock and £300+ for the Cane Creek shock everywhere else so with a little bit of man maths it made more sense to upgrade to the Cane Creek shock form their eBay store.

Bikepacking tent for under £30.  Not much headroom. But only 1.3Kg.  Ditch half the pegs and use it outer only should be under 1kg.

Cheap not always bad. I toured for years with a £30 Argos tent which while bigger than this one was just over 2Kg.

https://outdoorgear.co.uk/outdoorgear-backpacker-pro-1-tent/

I have a good 2kg bike touring tent. Seriously thinking of buying this for fast and light hillwalking  as an alt to a bivvy bag.

Bargain shoes

Absolute bangin bargain on Ride Concept shoes at Evans especially if you can’t get on with the current narrowness of 5tens. The powerlines linked here are the best flat mtb shoe I’ve had in 20 years ! Just go a full size bigger

Ohhh that's tempting. Are they really that small? Like, New Balance small or adidas small?

Are they really that small?

I had to go up 1 or 1.5 sizes in my previous RC shoes.

Have ordered some Powerlines and Hellion Elites thanks cnud.

I'm an actual size 9.5 but wear a size 10 five ten impact / freerider etc and a 10.5 is just right for me in the RC Powerline

Probs an 11 for me then (actual size 10, 10.5 in adidas, sometimes 11 in New Balance).

I don't really need them though, I've basically forgotten how to ride a bike and I have a near brand new pair of Spesh shoes.

*hovers over buy button*

@big-bud, I appreciate if you want to be careful with what you say but for clarity where were these fox 36s from?

There is a post further up about fox 38s on merlin, I'm trying to work out if they're linked

Had a closer look at the 36’s I had delivered and they look absolutely genuine. Similar if not a bit lighter in weight to my Marzocchi z1s and serial number on them identifies them as OE with no graphics on the Fox website.

My guess on the forks is that someone ordered them and sent back some fake ones. No one checked them properly and they got sent back out. Odd not to go back to the seller in the first instance if it was a big online retailer.

@jonba odd you assumed I hadn't.

I did contact the retailer of whome I have a long standing relationship with as a customer and they, like every good online retailer offered to exchange or refund.

Hence I'm not naming the shop even though it's obvious as I genuinely think they are the best at what they do.

The forks were actually collected today instead of the planned Monday.

It could well be there just terribly finished oem forks and at least I'll have piec of mind .

Now please bare in mind ì never contacted fox saying are these fakes or not as such

I questioned the quality of the finish etc which then lead to the request to see them .

I have also jot accused anyone of selling fakes I just want to be clear about that.

I'm just highlighting caution .

Now continue with your daily mail please:)

Seemee 508 radar tail light to £70

I can't comment how the Magicshine Seemee 508 compares with the Seemee R300 Smart or Garmin RTL515 or how compatible they are with Garmin Edges 1000 series etc ..
