Does anyone know if the Tuo thing comes with a riser block?
I ordered the Ali Express guard and the guard is identical, the only thing it was missing was the Unite packaging, the actual guard is exactly the same.
So you've purchased a counterfeit product from China at less that the cost of material and anodising. I wonder how the Chinese company is able to do it?
Ribble have added a lot of drivetrain Shimano and SRAM to their clearance pages, eg 105 compact chainsets for £50.

.. and GX Eagle chains for £13 a pop.
Has anyone stumbled across decent deals on elbow and knee pads?
@cheers_drive I understand how they do it in China, the materials are cheap.
After seeing the comments about Unite I'm questioning whether they're actually made in the UK as stated on their website.
I have a genuine one and they're identical.
Unite stuff is made in the UK, the have a number of machines and shown pictures making the stuff.
Aside from the cerakote nonsense that would put me off their gear now it’s super shitty that the Chinese have made carbon copies and sell the stuff for pennies - it’s also a bit shitty people are buying counterfeit parts and helping to kill unite off.
There are reasons they are offering 50% off this weekend, this is one of them.
I understand how they do it in China, the [s]materials[/s] uyghur slaves are cheap.

Wiggle had some 100% pads. I bought 100% knee pads for £9.63 and they are great lightweight ones. At that price, I doubt they are still in stock.

Cheap centre lock rotors?
I understand how they do it in China.
A factory that makes counterfeit products is likely too:
Possibly slave labour labour
No H&S
Use low grade materials
Receive Chinese government support for shipping
Have no environmental controls.
Haven't spent a penny on design development or marketing, all stolen from the IP owner.
This isn't against China or the Chinese, there are plenty of good factories in China and increasingly some good brands.

My favourite pedals.
NANOJAN makes them £42 or something.
The feel of Nanos is great, but I found they needed new bearings every 9-12 months, so you have to budget £15 to replace them
I got tired of having to do this, so replaced the bearings sold up and moved on to something needing less regular maintenance
I’m still on a 5 year old pair, probably says more about how often the mtb gets an outing.
Someone posted about Scotby Cycles previously. Met Rivale road helmet (Medium, black/red, non-MIPS) is now £35 + postage.
Such as?
I had a similar experience with Nanos, the bushings kept wearing out for me. This was on the version previous to the current one.
So now I ride Nukeproof Horizon Enduros and DMR V11s - both seem much better after 1-2 years.
Wiggle code EXTRA10 is back! just had an email.
I fitted grease nipple's to mine and the bearings last forever 👍

Would boost 29 forks work OK with a non boost (15x100) thru axle wheeled bike?
I have seen you can buy adapters for many types of fitting and was considering this as an option as the forks on it are very low quality coil and very weighty.
@ogden
Thanks for that, I've been sniffing around some Fox 38s for a while.
Info for others after some recent digging on this.
A and K seem to come from Fox product codes when you enter either the 4 digit tune code or the serial number into the Fox website. I means Kashima which is redundant when the description also says "factory".
The A, I think relates to the Performance series with the Grip damper, not to be confused with Performance Elite which has a Grip 2 damper.
After a conversation with wiggle the other day about these forks, they sent me some photos and a serial number for one if them. They were really helpful actually.
The 38 K appear to be 2022/2023 so have the deeper crown to reduce the risk of creaking. Crown width is 58 rather than the 68mm. However, Fox say that the choice between 58 and 68 is purely cosmetic and does not affect strength. It's just because some ebikes have big chunky head tubes.
The only difference on the ebike versions, not that this is, is a softer tune as ebike riders spend more time sat down. Or so I read.
thanks onzadog for clarifying on 38s
the £630 factory is a bargain, the performance is cheap £495, wish they'd had the middle spec 'performance elite' cheaper, currently £723.
i'm hoping for that np scout frame drops to £200, its down to £245 delivered

Yeah, you just need adapters- some wheels have specific ones, but you can always use the "2 little spacers and a disc spacer" type, or "2 spacers and a fat centrelock adaptor" if you've got centrelock. You won't get the performance advantage of the boost wheel, but since that was mostly made up and totally unnoticable whenever it wasn't made up, that's OK.
@Onzadog thank you for that heads up. I had read about creaking steerers, im not still looking at a basket debating the need for these over my Lyriks
I've had the Sweet Protection Knees for a few years - they are great. The right balance of protection vs comfort meaning I wear them any time im on my trail bike. They hold up well too.
I have the same concerns about creaking CSUs. From what 8v3 read, it's the stanchions 90% of the time rather than the steerer. However, it seems that finding a good suspension specialist to press them out, clean them up and rebound them is the perfect solution. Seems the original fit is so clean and smooth there's no space for the loctite. However, once they've fretted a bit, the surface makes for a better bond.
At £630, I don't mind if I have to do that down the line if they creak outside of warranty.
We are running Lyriks and Fox 38s on identical bikes. Turbo Levos and Enduros. I prefer the Lyriks but the others in the family prefer the 38s.
We were running 36s before the 38s and we all agreed the Lyrik was way better.
At the price of them 38s it would be more of a want than a need to swap out the Lyrik
If you need ro swap out an air shaft on the 38s it's also a bit more expensive.
Thats the thing Tracey its more the want than need . My Lyriks are very very good do i really need to add a load more weight and loose 630 notes at the same time .. Truth be told if I really needed them they would be en -route already . Beside that floating axle thing and pinch bolt looks like an extra level of faff to me and my mere stelth maxle 🙂
Still I keep looking .... 🙂 🙂
I've just ordered a pair of NS eccentric frames (his & hers 🤣).
I'm 6' (184cm) & immediately apprehensive I should have gone for M instead of L.
@lovewookie I think you've got one. Is the 500mm seat tube to the top, or to where it meets the top tube?
Thanks.
@rockhopper70 - cheers for the heads up on those elbow pads at stif, just what my skinny arms need for more adventurous days out
