I've discovered a way not to be too overcome from buying too many of these bargains.

.

Solution - Hide Them In A Cupboard.

.

Out of sight, out of mind.

Have you figured out a way to hide a bike?

If anyone else is also looking for an excuse not to buy this, let me help you. It seems to have a similar thin yellow plastic MIPS cradle as other Met helmets, which I've found to be fragile. I think cracked mine at all the connection points on a Terranova just by pushing the helmet into my forehead a few times to squeeze out sweat from the brow band - something I've done hundreds of times with my Bell. Compare the Parchute (another pic) with the Leatt 4 Enduro's Turbine system.

Or pick a full face that's still got decent ventilation, and is light, but is DH certified.

Bell Super DH Spherical MIPS MTB Helmet with a wraparound removable chinbar. DH certified £149 with possibly extra money of if you have merlin loyalty points.

I have this and it saved me at stiniog where I had a bit of a crash.

Box 100 Shimano Stainless Inner shift cables 1.2mm x 2100mm, <£40:

Am I just too paranoid or do those cables seem too cheap to be genuine?

Possibly silly question, but that cable housing from TRADEInn via Amazon.eu, what happens with import duty/VAT on that?

Those NS frames look great for the price. Maybe slightly slack SA but could shove saddle forwards.

Fond memories of the NS Surge I had 10 years ago.

No smalls in stock unfortunately, otherwise that does look awesome and my kind of bike. I think sagged the reach might be too long for me at 5'8", with my current FS frame at 453mm reach it already feels quite stretched out

Rapha rain jacket less than half price:

Men's Gore-Tex Hooded Rain Jacket | Rapha

I got one years ago (in the sale of course) and it's brilliant. Pretty breathable, very waterproof and a great cut for MTB.

If your referring to my link, that's where I got my sp41 from. Never had any issues with trdaeinn shipping shimano to the UK.

Rapha rain jacket less than half price:

What's the cut like? (ie does a mediumish but normal proportioned middle-aged bloke need a large?)

Oh, and how does it cinch down over a helmet?

Whats the durability like?

All my 2.5 layer jackets fail fairly quickly as they live scrunched up in my pack. Never had a gore tex one though

That Rapha jacket, why do the models in these “edgy” brands stand like a drongo?  It looks too short in length for hunched over riding, but happy to be corrected by Cha****ng.  Why they don’t just sit the guy on a bike and get into riding position and photograph that fails me. It does say city riding, so fine for riding my similarly priced CRC Vitus One.

Normal fit, not racing. Medium should be fine. Think I've pulled the hood over a helmet and it just kind of stays there.

Whats the durability like?

Still looks pretty new after 6 years or so.

I tend don't keep it in my pack much though, I keep it for proper wet rides and pair with a bumbag so no strap rub.

Never had a gore tex one though

So now I've realised mine was pre- them changing to Gore Tex, so my opinion on the breathability and waterpoorfness should be ignored - sorry.

Still probably worth a punt, I find the commuting cut fine for road, MTB and gravel. Better than any MTB-specific jacket I've had.

£135 for a rain jacket 😂.

Perhaps half price might be decent value.

Oh wait it's already more than half price 😂

I bet that red Rapha jacket looks nothing like the pictures when in real light. The trail Infinium jacket from last year looked purple in the photo, but was quite pink when it arrived.

Lot of NS Bikes stuff is "£11.99" but out of stock. Or has an "£11.99" variant you can't select. Doubt anyone actually got one of the frames, or one the wheelsets, for that price.

I got wheelsets, one 29" boost and one 27.5" non boost in rainbow colours.  Bargain!

I almost bought a frame, but I don't have any 29" forks and I have only just built a 27.5" hardtail so I saved my money (the frames had the £20 postage charge)

Just need to find myself a 50m roll of SP41 for less than the £89 Woolly Hat Shop are selling it for via eBay:

There are 300 metre reels of it on ebay, though they don't look as convenient as the 50m reels.  I guess they are for bike assemblers rather than shops servicing

Ordered some of those NS bars on the way…
Also spotted this helmet, I bought one for my brother at £15, and it is really nice, a bargain at full RRP, it’s now £7.50 so I might replace a couple more of my helmets.
https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/p/brand-x-eh1-enduro-mtb-cycling-helmet
The full face is £10!

300m for £250.

Maybe we should organise a group buy and split it into 50 or 25m bundles

I was surprised to find that Wiggle still has some £9.99 POC Axion Spin helmets left in XS so thought that they were worth flagging up again for those with small heads or looking for something for the children.

M+L Brand X enduro helmets £7.50 - https://www.wiggle.com/p/brand-x-eh1-enduro-mtb-cycling-helmet?color=blackblack&sizeStandard=L

Brand X fullface helmet in L £10 - https://www.wiggle.com/p/brand-x-dh1-full-face-mtb-cycling-helmet?color=black&sizeStandard=L

£30 for a twin pot rear brake. Cheap dat. Although, right hand, isn't that front brake over in these parts? So I guess you'd need a bleed kit and olive/barb to cut it down.
