Quick PSA, I've not been able to find these for ages but it appears Wiggle have found some Open Pave's in the back of the warehouse. Arguably the best fast winter tyre out there and a bargain at £22 per end. Treat yourselves here.

Really nice tyres but do wear quickly.

True @anagallis_arvensis but they're such a good winter tyre. I can deal with a bit of wear for more speed and more grip.

Hmm... is it worth the weight saving to stick these on my winter commuter/base miles bike instead of the 32c Vittoria Hyper Voyagers? Surely these aren't as tough?

Almost lamenting not having a bike to put these one, my road bike is already consigned to the turbo for the winter...

They arent really a "tough" tyre but they have quite puncture proof, massively grippy in the wet and much nicer to ride on than Gatorskin type tyres

This. They're a fast winter tyre, you'll lose some protection, some durability and some toughness from the Hyper Voyagers but will gain grip, speed and "feel". They're brilliant tyres IMO, hence getting for too excited when I saw them at a sensible price. Depends on what you want from a tyre really, I value grip and speed (in that order) certainly over durability and to a fair degree over puncture resistance.

How wide do these come up, compared to say GP4000 28s?
