Jeez I bought them at 49 and thought that was cheap! I'm happy with mine. Definitely a summer shoe though. Very light and comfy but take on water very easily.

Cheers, bit of a garish colour but I already have plenty of green kit so well worth a punt.

Thanks. Madison Zenith waterproof is also at £29 (from £99) - just the black colour, all sizes available. If it's as good as my Zenith waterproof shorts then it's a bargain too.

I'm normally a 9 but found the 44 a better fit than 43.

I found them to be quite narrow at the toe. I'm usually a 42 in Shimano and that's what mine are, there's just less "wiggle room". The almost identical GR900s are a better fit on me.

Yes, my experience with Shimano stuff is that sizing up is a good idea

Anyone know if sizing is accurate with madison jackets?

They are great shoes, have a pair for a little over an year.
Can only compare gripwise to some Fiveten Spitfires I had, let's say the Spitfires were 10/10 the GR7s 9/10, but otherwise way better shoes.

They are stiff enough to not feel pedal pressure points even after a full riding day day supple enough to walk in full comfort. They are easy to get wet but dry easily.

Toe protection could be improved a bit. Otherwise, like with most Shimano stuff, really durable, mine are like new after an year

Yeah, Madison sizing is pretty good. Not a slick, roadie fit, so if you like that, size down 🙂
I ordered the ION shoes for £12 more than the Shimanos, cuz I is ION fanboi.

Got mine today. First impressions are great. Stiffer than my old terrex and almost as grippy.

I ordered two sizes but couldn't exchange the larger pair for the smaller size because the price has gone back up. Chap in the shop thought it was a fat fingered error.

Not sure whether to keep (probably be fine with bigger socks) or sell/return.

I accidently ordered a size 41 so far too small for me.
If anyone wants them for what I paid, let me know 🙂

Mine arrived yesterday and I'm very happy for 30 quid 🙂

They look more betterer for wet weather than my 5:10s (in that they look as through they will dry out), sole feels good in terms of stiffness and grip, and the little elastic lace retainer thing is nice.

Color scheme is a bit meh but luckily I rarely look at my feet when riding so will only be a practical problem for my awesome instabanger shots.

I ordered a 44 and a 45, the 45 fitting me.

I was going to return the 44 but if anyone wants me to send it their way, for cost plus postage, I'd be happy to oblige.

So the IONs I bought are now cheaper than the Shimano - have just collected, so will post any sizing issues.

My IONs in a 45 seem pretty tight on first trying. My feets were hot from walking around, but I think they might be going back. Shame, they look quality.

Ordered 45 in the GR7's but think 46 would work better if anyone up for a swap 😊

sounds like they're all a size bigger than 5.10s? I was always happy with 5.10 44 until adidas messed it up.

I might be in the market for Dez or ijl's 45s if andeh tells me his 5.10s are 44.

Are either of you down South?

I have a set of 43s here, just a smidge too small, after some 44s...

If Ed doesn’t have them I’ll be next in line please. 👍🏻

Hmm. andeh says he's a 46 in 5.10 land, so maybe the 44s will be OK for me.

So I'll buy his, and if they don't fit, I'll wang them on to pictonroad and buy Dez's - maybe seal the deal with a couple of laps of QECP.

How does that sound?

Oh hi! IONs fit me fine, my trying on place wasn't ideal (in the car!). You have to loosen the laces off a fair bit.
Lovely shoes, dead chuffed with em cos my old Sombrios.. well, I've had em yonks!
Not a big 45, but a they're a 45 (UK10)

Just collected mine and fortunately they fit like a glove (apart from not having fingers etc, obvs).

The helpful lad in the shop said the pricing was apparently a mistake.

Oh, and they look like they'll be great for riding in. Love the cuff bit for keeping grit & loam out of shoe.

I ordered a 45 as per my other shimano shoes (I'm a UK 10 normally). First ride last night and they are excellent. Light weight, excellent fit, comfortable and insane grip levels. Lovely shoe at full price. Totally exceptional for £30!

Haven't worn mine on the bike yet, just to the office. As I was lobbing out the box yesterday I found the spare grey laces. 🙂

Very pleased with mine, 1,300m of mostly hike a bike in Lakes today and they are way better than 5:10s for that kind of thing.

Also quite like the stiffer sole and more damped feel for general riding. None of that awkwardness repositioning my foot while riding some very techical descents.

Best bargain for some time so thanks again OP.

I will join in the thanks.
Had just about trashed my last pair of 5.10 spitfires and on first ride these seem a nice replacement.
Need some mud to hide the lurid greenness which is bad enough I am seriously debating actually bothering to change the laces but overall really nice.

I bought the Ions instead. They're a little small, but not too small, happily. Def bigger than 44 Shimanos.

Ions aren't as grippy as 5.10s, but hopefully they'll last longer as a trade off.
