dobbo - where is the waterproof claim?

The batteries built by smudge are pretty weather resistant, but the pouch helps tremendously if you put the battery in upside down. This means that water ingress is limited more than the DX cover manages.

rob - where was the 'you said it was waterproof claim'?

Just making a passing comment that it may be beneficial if it was.

I was planning on putting it in a wee saddle bag and attaching that to the stem

Rob, I guess Dobbo was interpreting your claim that the phone case was a perfect cover for DX light batteries as meaning it was waterproof. I'd agree with him - Smudge's battery packs may be water resistant but the DX one's aren't!

Do you know if the phone case is waterproof? I note it's made of neoprene.

No, not at all. I've been trying to find a decent case for the DX battery myself. This phone case looks interesting.

Like I said My batteries are as waterproof as I can make them and those bags look ideal. BUT I would still suggest putting the batteries in a re-sealable sandwich bag first.
