with the VIP10 discount.

I don't need them now for my road bike for 6 months, but at that price! I can't see why they wouldn't work on an MTB (chainrings are not as low geared for sure) (but don't quote me on that). Perhaps the BBs aren't as well seal (but don't quote me on that either)

probably won't work on an MTB - "bb" is shorter and cranks won't clear the chainstays

They do usually fit actually. The main issue is that the chainline is different so unless you're going to single ring it, it won't shift properly or not without some bodging.

Won't fit a 73mm shell - the axle will be too short, no room for an E-type front mech either.

May fit a 68mm shell (depending on crank clearance), but the rings are bigger as said, could be run as a double, but you'd still probably want to change one of the rings. If you're using the inner/middle positions you may encounter chain line problems and find it won't shift down.

Unless you need a road triple I'd not bother, more potential faff than it's worth, not that much cheaper than SLX really!

Doesn't matter, but Ultegra SL was a 10 speed group.

I was looking at a new lighter triple for the road bike but my current setup is nine speed. Would my current shifter still work.?

neilsonwheels - yes, so long as your shifter is triple it'll work. The chainline (measured middle of bb shell to centre of middle chainring) may be different to your current cranks, so you may need to tinker with end stops and cable clamp on the front mech, but the cranks will work fine.

Bargain price that if anyone is after a triple...

[EDIT] they will work as long as your frame is english threads!

Shoulnd't need to.

The cranks will work regardless - the BB won't fit a frame with Italian thread though!
