I would buy the 960 which is half the price of the 1080, I put my 1080HD in R4 mode which is 960 because when 1080 mode is selected it narrows the field of vision to 127 degrees from the 170 degrees, thus making the 1080 a 960!! Their best kept secret, people like me paying £300 for a camera and using it in £169 mode...
Best price I've ever seen for the chest mounts too.
And yep, if I was buying now I'd get a 960 without a doubt.
worth remembering that shooting at 960 on either version is 4:3 rather than 16:9 (i.e. the squarer format rather than widescreen), you might prefer the results from 720.. though 960 is easily croppable to 720 in editing, the width is the same (1280)
also don't get the 60fps but if that's not an issue, hell yes get the £170 one!
