TO the Singletrack giries: my better half has got one of those Spesh Mykas. Its a fantasic frame. And at £200, is ridiculously cheap. You can't get a decent hardtail frame for that 😯

Anyone got any idea what size Myka for a lady 5'8" tall with a 32/33in inside leg?

What's the Myka sizing like? Wife is 5'9". I guess medium would be right.

I'd love to think my missus would love one of those Mykas, but TBH she'd rather have the pennies to spend on shoes.....

PP and Cooie - As they're female specific, they come in quite small. I'd go for the large. my missus is a a lot shorther than 5'8" and she's fine with a medium

Well, I'm the same height as her (shorter legs though) and always a medium in Spesh bikes. The medium Myka is the same size (Seat tube) as a meduim FSR, just 35mm shorter

The medium size given equates to 17.8in (Seat tube) and Mrs PP has a 17in Hardrock as a commuter which fits her well.

I'm erring towards the medium.....

BUT she currently has a 17in Kona King Kikapu (mens frame) which looks a tad small on her in the leg, but too long

The large Myka is 10mm LONGER than a mens medium....

So I'm unsure!!

Arghhhh!

EDIT

She needs something a bit taller, but shorter than the kona

**heads off to find Kona geometry**

I've been occasionally known to take the (medium) Myka out for a spin. with a 32" inside leg (same as me), she's going to have a lot of seatpost showing. So I'd still advise a large PP

cooie - What size are you going for?

[Edit] Not sure how valid it is, but there's a rough size chart here: http://www.cyclestore.co.uk/contentPages.asp?pageID=62 [/Edit]

Aidy, cheers, I thought that was a good answer, but the Safire (The closest thing to a Myka) is listed as

S-WORKS SAFIRE FSR Rider Height Rider Height (cm)
Bike Size
Small 5' 0" - 5' 4" 152 - 163
Medium 5' 4" - 5' 8" 163 - 173
Large 5' 8" - 5' 11" 173 - 180

And she's 5'8"

So bang in the middle!!!

Arrgghh!

RING Spesh UK for advise. I bet these frames are old warranty replacements stock heldback and from spesh UK.

Myka is the same sizing

I'll have a think......

Having ridden one, and watched the missus ride one for 12 months PP, I'd definitely err on the side of the large. She's at the 5'4" end of the spectrum and the medium is fine for her. Definitely not too big

This is getting confusing now. On Aidy's link medium is 5'5"-5'-10". On PP's it's 5'4"-5'8"!!

Ive stopped looking at that site [impulse bought my last two Enduros from them]. Couldnt resist clicking on your link.

Ive just talked myself into leaving a deposit on a S Works Enduro. If it feels right on Tuesday my old one will have to go.

Nearly forgot my 'no Specialized stuff' rule there for a minute, shame, one of those Myka's could have been ideal for using up a load of spares..

That ano bronze is mint. Yes it reminded me of a post on Mtbr of someones Enduro- it looked beautiful in the pics/really suits the shape which to be honest looks ungainly/not special enough in some colours IMO.

I'd be cautious, I'm 5ft 2 and the small Safire was far too horribly short for me. Must be my Mr Tickle arms...

Was that the Enduro SL falkirk-mark and which fox shock? iirc Specialized had reliability issues with their own shocks.

Fsr xc, I would be lying if I said exactly which one but it was Fox and had pro pedal and lockout

EDIT I think it tells you below the frames spec what shock is on them, mines a triad

I think the shock is a Fox Triad. That's whats on the better half's bike.

Peterpoddy - they do have them, you just have to dig a bit - I'm sure I found them when I was trying to work out the geometry of an old Hoss - then again, maybe not 🙁 .

Alternatively try one of the old konas on CRC, they had a massive size charts for previous years, depending how old it is, if you can find something within a year or two of MrsPPs one.

My Mrs has an '09 Myka FSR in medium. She's 5'8" and the bike is a touch too short for her.

hora - Member
Weight?

Not much in it, the Pitch has only one of the Enduro's geometry settings (slack&low), but I winched it up half a mile of 1in3 last night without weelieing. Enduro has a tube for the seattube brace, pitch is a folded sheet, enduro has a forged headtube, Pitch's normal tubing, M5 is slightly higher tensile and yield strength and welds better (IIRC).

So yes, the Enduro is slightly lighter, but a Pitch is still under 30lb with the OEM kit, mines not 33lb but would be about 28 spending the same money but being weight concious (I just used stuff I already had, or really wanted or was cheep).

I have a medium 2008 Myka FSR - it is definitely about 2 inches longer than the Saffire. I'm 5'8" with a 33" inside leg and I really want one of those large Mykas as I've always thought my medium is a tad small - can anyone lend me £200????

Oh hell...I always wanted a Pitch and bought a Wolf Ridge instead. I thought I'd never have the chance to own one as they've stopped building them...how the heck do I tell the missus that I can't buy a new sofa and TV for our new lounge?

Oh heck! They've even got it in my size!

Anyone want a kidney?

My 2011 Pitch does, came with a stinger style chain device, the front mech is an odd bolt on one, think it's a E-type without the plate or something.

If you feel comfy on the small 05' and the TT and ST are similar why not get a small 09?

Although......isn't the 05 Enduro supposed to be a better ride than the horizontally mounted 09 Enduro?

Thanks Hora for the post - just got off the phone with them - Myka FSR ordered for the other half, they are sold out of the medium and large Myka FSR's - I just ordered the last large, they aren't looking at email inquiries yet apparently as its fairly chaotic at their end due to calls about the frame sale so if anyone has mailed they should follow it up on the phone.

Now to go fork and groupset shopping!

So tempted by a Pitch (was more keen on an Enduro but none in my size) but can only afford the frame for now....must resist!

In case anyone is interested I called the store about an hour ago, they have all sizes of Pitch apart from M and Enduros in S or XL.

They've also added a 2010 Enduro Pro SL frame

Really wanted one of the medium Enduros but missed the last one by about an hour. Dropped money on a large Pitch instead. Now I'm thinking I should have gone for a small Enduro and stuck a longer stem on instead.

Just got back in - may be worth ringing them Jerome but the lady i spoke to was fairly sure the L was the last myka fsr in stock. So nearly bought a Pitch as well but haven't got the space, already have one unbuilt mens frame in the cupboard and another would be overkill.
