Hey guys, I'm running BB7's with SLX discs at the mo and they work well, but I'm looking at having a shuffle between bikes and was wondering does any one run SLX brakes with avid discs?
The discs are fairly new and the brakes will be brand new, but I don't know if the shimano pads require fancy discs?
I wasn't too worried about experimenting with the BB7's because it's a commuter but the SLX brakes will be on the full susser.
Any advice is appreciated.
As long as the overall diameter of the disc is the same as what its replacing you should be fine. Some discs are slightly wider, but that shouldnt normally cause a problem.
I use XTR brakes with Avid rotors, it's fine, as above; a rotor is a rotor, as long as diameter matches.
Cool, I couldn't see any obvious problems, but it was nice to be reassured.
