I have done this ride a few times with the kids and with good weather on our side, it has been really quite good.
Unlikley to make it this year but a heads up for anyone else.
Can you just ride down the prom (dodging pedestrians) other nights? The in-laws live up that way but we can't do Tuesdays

We did it years ago and vowed never again, the yobs on BSOs swerving amongst the cyclists make it unpleasant and dangerous.
done it for the last 4 years but cant make it this year. You just have to have your witts about you as the standard of cycling generally is rubbish.
Still by far the best way to see the illuminations though.
Podge, you can ride it anytime, but they close the prom to cars tonight so its traffic free.
I think it's a great event.... But it's so busy I actually find it hard work. I've seen people falling off, crashing into each other and been shouted at for actually stopping(heaven forbid) at a pedestrian crossing!
Yes Thepodge, the whole length of the prom is rideable away from the road and traffic at any time though, so I just do the lights on another night, but I'm local and it's not a special trip for me.
