I really hope its to do with them bring a new model and clearing the stock and not too much to do with whats happening in the world right now! I don't own a bird but have demoed one before and they seem like really good guys!

I think If I needed a new bike it would be hard to look past an AM9.

I'm guessing it's because of the new Aether 7 model that's been released

Nothing untoward, We're lucky to have strong cash and stock positions and very low overheads. But we're realistic that 2020 is basically a bust (We do 75% of our annual trade in the 5 months March > July), so while we're on a limited factory staff for now for isolation reasons we'd like to clear out some of the older lines in order to make way for newness 🙂

Great frame at a great price!

Good to know!

I demoed one a few years back and really enjoyed it. Its a steal at that price!

Hopefully you'll have a massively busy period when all this is over, as a result of folks like me who will be compiling wishlists and itching to get out.

The 145 has been replaced by the AM160 so it’s been on offer a while - but this recent drop makes it really cheap! Glad I got in and sold my 145 a month or so ago for £675 (frame / shock / axle / seat clamp / headset though - the price above is frame only).

Got an Aether 7 to replace it - ridden it twice so far and it’s awesome. Really playful and climbs pretty well too.

Nice work - the Aeris 145 is a nice bike and it’ll just take all you can throw at it and more. Plus Bird are great to deal with - hence me buying another one.

I am really tempted even though I have a flaremax .....
Donor bike could be a 27.5 hard tail...

Can I make 140 pikes into 170mm with just change in airshaft?

Pikes only go up to 160mm I think. That length would be fine to use with the 145 either in normal 145mm travel or 160mm LT travel

Good deal if you can source a cheap shock, geometry not gonna date as bad as some brands' outgoing models.

Anyone after a set of boosty hoops for these, I have some Stans Baron S1 wheels I'm flogging.

As a toddler one of my kids used to call spaghetti hoops 'hoopty beans'.

I've got the Sun Ringles on my Zero 29 and they've been good for almost a year, still true and only had to clean the freehub although will probably do the bearings soon once I've worked out what kind they are.

@mrmoofo: feel tempted if it means you have a large 2nd gen flaremax for sale as I think I know someone who will buy it (cough cough)!

I keep playing with the bird bike builder, amazing value, would prefer a 29er but suspect I'd be massively overbiked on the AM9...
