You see it all the time on HDUK. The inexplicable rage when an order placed, using a voucher never intended for the recipient, gets cancelled.

You think STW has a lot of armchair lawyers. I guarantee you, the poor bastards at Decathlon CS department, will be getting inundated with copy and pastes of their T&Cs.

Jamie can i have a link to the website as you know how much I love to copy and paste 😉

Felt bad anyway and I did a dead quick order before they cancelled so not that bothered tbh I was being cheeky they have declined

Such is life

A single use voucher code that allowed multiple uses was their error which has caused them loads of work to cancel orders, CRC manage to make single-use codes.

Not bothered in the slightest about having my order cancelled, I suspected it was too good to be true, but by having the "confirmation email forms a contract" in their T+Cs sets them up for the armchair lawyers, who would probably win on that basis.

I dont think they would have made a massive loss. I think they would have made a small profit.

😆

Also denied. Never mind, I may just buy some kit from them at full price.

Out of interest, how did the OP come to have the prize code. And why did he put it up?

Friend/relative of the proper recipient?

I don't see how the armchair lawyers can assume a win without knowing the terms and conditions applied to the voucher code. If it was stated to the original recipient that the code was to be used only once, and by them only, then any subsequent user doesn't have a leg to stand on.

Cancellation email too. Worth a crack. But what **** wins a charity prize and shares it?!?!?!?

Anyone moaning, stop armchair lawyering, it was a gamble and a cheeky one at that. Pipe down.

Nah fella, you need to move on with your life... seriously, its £40 that you were never really entitled to, you've hardly been done over...

I'd never looked at decathlon pre £40 voucher.
Placed 3 orders all of which were cancelled.
However, I have now ordered some of it full price.
Nice bit of publicity for Decathlon.

Astounded that some people are actually feeling wronged here 😆

I'm so outraged, I've written to the charity. Hopefully, they will do what's right, and reimburse me for the £40 that is rightfully mine.

On the way to work, I actually shouted at a kid and stole his shoes as it's his fault I didn't get my voucher or something.

I'm annoyed that I was out all day riding bikes in the sunshine on bank holiday monday and so missed the chance to not save £40.

This is the modern day equivalent of noticing the price label is wrong at your bike retailer.

I'm annoyed that david_jey was out all day riding bikes in the sunshine... it rained all day here. Luckily my Decathlon jacke kept me reasonably warm and dry.

I'm not annoyed any more. I had great day riding the last leg of our C2C (Consett to Tynemouth) and didn't get rained on, had great service from the friendly chaps at Gravitate cycles in Newcastle, just had some nice food and Springwatch has started. Life's pretty good
