So, my eldest daughter grew out of her 24" Islabike, and I started looking at small 26" mountainbikes. I wanted to get her something that might encourage her to come riding with her old man, so not too heavy and not too big for her.

I put a wanted ad on here and after a week or so the very nice my Crikey off here emailed me about a little Klein Attitude that was going to waste in his garage.

A couple of weeks later it is now built up with a bit of drivetrain from my spares box, some elixirs and rebas out of the classifieds and some girlie white and pink stuff. I tried (and failed) to avoid going a bit over the top. I really hope she likes riding it - but I have prepared myself for the fact that she might not even take to riding off road!

I can't believe how beautifully finished the frame is. Gorgeous paint and welds. Wasted on a very lucky 11 year old.

I should have sails that due to the generosity of Crikey and the fact that almost everything else originated in the classifieds it will have cost considerably less than a Apollo by the time I've sold the parts I swapped.

Wow, looks absolutely brilliant!
The main pleasure I get is from knowing it will be loved and used again.
Good job Dad...

Well, first ride out and she was keen for more after an hour and a half. Good sign I think.

That looks great!!

When 'sprog' James was 10 - did the same thing here, he loved that bike and is looking for a larger one now!

All bits from the bits box came in around 18lbs.

Long gone to a new home - some one on here - to make a pair!!

Brilliant!

I'm sure she'll love it.

There's an Attitude XX in the classifieds right now.

Why can't anyone weld Alu like Gary could?

I think Bol junior will be a wheels on the ground kind of girl, a bit like her dad, so I reckon it will survive for another round of recycling. Give it two or three years Mamma and it's got your name on it.

Looks lovely.

Bol, you are not alone. I have a 14" 2000 Litespeed Pisgah frame ready and waiting for when my eldest grows out of her Isla, and judging by the height of her it won't be too many more years now.
