Went out on a ride today, typically riding really well and wanted to get the stats onto strava. When I went to upload it the file wasn't there. So had a search around online and downloaded a deleted file recovery program. This worked to give me a .fit file for the ride but when I went to upload this I get an error on strava saying "Not an Activity". Anyone had this before and managed to resolve it? Never had it happen before. Thanks
I know it's a long way round, but have you tried "connecting" Strava to Garmin Connect and then uploading it to Connect?
You could try this FIT file repair tool. http://garmin.kiesewetter.nl/
Or this, but it requires MS Access. http://fitfilerepairtool.info/
Yeah Garmin connect wouldnt accept the file either. Tried the first of those repair tools to no avail 🙁
The file is screwed then
. Try opening it in a text editor and see if all the headers are in order.
Yeah that has happened actually. Did you still manage to upload your file?
Or try this: https://www.fitfiletools.com/
It has an option to fix corrupt timestamps.
FIT is a binary format, you won't see anything useful if you open it in a text editor.
Try posting your fit file here:- https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?36743-Fit-File-Corrupt-can-you-repair-it/page46
one of the Garmin wizards may be able to do something with it for you.
