I bought a Solarstorm back in the autumn when it stared to get dusky. Its battery lasted for a long time on the first use. Then it died with little warning in the middle of one of my rides, so I charged it to the top. But then it died only 40 minutes into my next ride.

Anyone know why this might have happened? I have just re-charged it again, and will see if it repeats. But assuming it will, would you guess that the battery is faulty?

Sounds like it's less than a year old, could you return it under warranty?

Otherwise I think you can get bettery packs seperately.

the battery packs are the real weak link in this and many examples - battery boy iirc have shown they re use cells and are just rubbish

Assuming you are happy with the light then get a battery form smudge or battery boy

Yeh the battery packs are sketchy.. Just buy a new battery pack, and charger whilst you are at it from a reputable source.

Whilst great value, these lights are dirt cheap for a reason.

LED's are cheap as chips.. Batteries and chargers are where the corners are cut.
