--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Good evening guys. I've had a set of K24's for about 10 months now and ever since day one i've had an issue with the rear lever going spongey and ending up touching the bar with little to no power. I've had 2 bikes shops bleed the brakes and when the'yve come back they feel great and firm. Problem is that after a few hours hard riding it goes again? I've tried new pads, checked all the o-rings are in place but nothing seems to make a difference.
Also, and i'm not sure if the brakes are designed to be like this but even when the brakes feel and work fine i have to pull the lever quite a way in before the brakes bite.

TBH i'm starting to think it's an issue with the brake rather that the bleed???

have you tried adjusting the little bite point lever thing?

I have but it doesn't do anything when the brake has gone spongey.

bleeding brakes is a horrible operation, could just be that there was still air somewhere in the system and its just made its way up to the lever?

Mine did this too. I endlessly fussed around with them changing pads, blleding them and eventually changing the pistions! Nothing seemed to work!
I eventually sent them back to the shop they came from and they replaced the internals on the lever. I know some of the older K24s were recalled due to issues with the seals in the master cylinder, so it could be worth checking with wherever you bought them to see if they can be returned under warranty (it should be sorted out for free then). The LBS fix seems to have worked as thay do feel pretty good now.
Bleeding them isn't too bad but you do need a bleed kit and it takes a bit of time.
The brakes do seem to have a lot more free lever movement than other brakes I have used, and the FCS adjuster doesn't do much in eliminating the excess movement. When I got mine back the adjuster seemed to work better than before but its not as good as the one on my Hopes.

In all honesty send them back to where they came from and ask them to be checked under warrenty. Its a bit rubbish that expensive brakes don't even last a year. Alternatively call propel the distributor and ask them to sort the issue out.

If they are only 10 months old then they should still be under warranty, take them back to where you bought them or contact Propel yourself to get it sorted. As rhid said there are known problems with the K24's & you really need them put right by the importer/distributer. I had trouble with my K24's & after they were returned to Propel for attention they have been awesome yet again.
