I need a new bb for my sram x5 100mm chain set. I take it any GxP will do? Just the plastic sleeve will be too short so I'll need to reuse the old one.
Also any (longer lasting) alternatives?

I managed two years out of a RaceFace BB, despite the bike being being ridden in all the places a fatbike gets to. You might have to buy a 100mm one the first time round but, as you say, it's only the plastic tube that makes any difference.

Race face won't work, SRAM is tapered axle. You could use hope with an adapter.
