Hi folks,
Hope you all had a nice Christmas.
My rear hub came 10mm bolt-up (threaded axle)
My new frame will have a 142 x 12mm back end, so i ordered these:
http://www.jejamescycles.co.uk/hope-pro-2-evo-rear-x12-thro-conversion-kit-id70638.html
Because my existing axle has M10 blind holes either end, I obviously can't use it.
The only axle I found online said it was not compatible with the Evo???
Leaving me confused!!!
I'm guessing if the hub came with the 'normal 'axle, then just changing the end caps would make it work....
Also, what's the difference between X12 & 12mm thru?
Thanks in advance.
Alan.
What frame and axle are getting?
The internal axle of the pro2 evo will fit a 12mm axle. From memory the x12 variant of the hope conversion, fits the syntace 142 width and the 12mm fits 135.... I think
2Souls QH.
I'm getting 142 x 12mm dropouts & axle supplied by them.
Ok cool, not familiar with that particular frame, however that is the same conversion kit i used for my pro2 evo and 142 x 12 back end on my carbine
Bump.
If you have an EVO geared hub all you'll need is the Hope x12 conversion kit to make your hub fit that frame.
If you have the earlier none EVO hub you'll need an axle, freehub, spacers and bearings. About £100 worth of bits.
Great choice of frame BTW.
I've been out on mine today.
It's definitely an Evo I have.
When I removed my 10mm bolt - in axle it left a big hole.
I now have the X12 ends, but they both have o rings on them, so must seal onto something? - an axle would be the obvious thing, but can't seem to find what I need online..... 🙁
Really looking forward to getting my frame (end of January)
Pikes arrived on Christmas Eve & look sad sat in their box.

Will your frame not come with the right axle?
Will your frame not come with the right axle?
Yes, but it's the 'female' bit of the actual hub I'm needing
I thought the axle ends just popped out and you popped the right ones in?
Axle is specific for 10mm, Will need changing so you can fit 142 x12 adaptors

This, having had another look at the exploded diagram, the 10mm threaded axle is a special part. You need a 12mm axle (HUB 229?) and the 142x12mm end caps.
