Just doing a few jobs on a new to me bike. When I lift the handle bars the forks extend an extra say 3 mm with a slight clunk. Push back down and they seem to compress 3mm before the air spring kicks in, again a very soft clunk.
The forks are still bedding in. The Alan bolts are tight at the bottom of each leg. Main question is does ridding the bike risk damage
This seems to be quite common, I saw a set do it on a mates bike an read something in a magazine that confirmed it.
Could it be lack of oil in the damper?
Bump to see if the at work crew can sugest a solution to this fork issue
let all the air out the negative chamber, then the positive. Re-inflate the positive, then the negative. This resets the air chambers into their correct places.
Edit: actually re-reading your post I'm not sure that's what the issue is, but worth a try anyway.
Should have said that they are solo air 335, so thats a turn key damper
However I will try e inflating from scratch. When I got the bike they were very hard (and I'm 100kg) so since then Ive let alot of air and not pumped any in
