I quite like that actually. Simple to switch, lots of adjustment. Stick it on to warm up before a race, then swap it over (don't forget) for a normal wheel. Suddenly you've got what feels like a massive tail wind.
Lots of similar things get used in other sports, so why not. Bit pricey though, couldn't you just tighten the cones a bit?
It would be easier to stick a elastic band round one of your brake levers to keep it partially on creating extra resistance or just ride up a hill,boths options would save you around $1200 and are instantly reversible whilst out on a ride.
