Hi,

I have one of these mud guards from when I had 36's. I now have the new Pike RCT3 and am wondering if anyone has used this combination and if the Rockshox specific mount worked out ok?

Thanks

Chris

I used to use mine with fox 34's, then I bought a Pike and I also bought the clamp for the Powa, it fits better on the Pike than it ever did on the 34's

I bought the RS mount after changing the fork from a 36 talas which fitted well, The RS mount is poor it needs packing out or there is large gap at the rear and almost touching the tyre at the front

Did you not get the packing with yours?

Been considering one of these, but there doesn't seem to be a Pike specific bracket:

Is there a particular one to go for?

No problems with my Pike adaptor, nice and tight, and my mates is the same. Great bit of kit.

Thanks all.

I have ordered the RS mount so fingers crossed. It's a lot of money to have sat in the spares box not doing anything for the sake of £20. Just hope Mojo post fast and it comes before Snowdon on saturday!

From memeory it was one of the rockshox Revelation mounts, you can adjust a bit with the rubber buttons, and I tweaked mine to work with a 29er pike with a heat gun as well so it was just right, will fit fine in standard spec. on 650 or 26 though.

Yes had the rubber bung and clear buttons also some black buttons, the lad at Mojo said to double up the black ones. and if it does not fit bring it back so must know its a poor fit
Its a tight fit at the rear section of the crown but no contact on the curved section of crown which leaves the front all most touching the tyre and a large gap between the true and guard at the rear.
Its all sort now with some extra packing at the curved section of crown the guard now has an even gap all the way round and works as it should now

You could have a marsh guard or similar for a tenner, and it'd be lighter and just as good.

Sorry but the Marsh guard is no where near as good!

I have a marsh guard on at the minute and it isn't as good, raced at Dyfi and Innerleithen in the mud and finished with an almost clean face. I just wish the defender was a bit deeper and covered the fork seals.
