if u buy the fenwicks concentrate it works out at less than £1 a litre

http://www.merlincycles.co.uk/Bike+Shop/Workshop++Tools/Workshop/Lubes+Oils+Fluids/Fenwicks+FS1+Bike+Cleaner+Concentrate++Degreaser_116.htm

i use it so much (great for bug splats and road grime on motorbikes) i got a 5L tub of conc works out even cheaper

I got hold of one today, not sure its the same one though, it looks the same colour as Muc-off, but its not got a squirty trigger, I think its called Wash and wax.

I gave up on all this stuff ages ago. Since then my BBs and bearings have all lasted much longer. Can't really see the point of it tbh, my bike gets plenty clean enough with a hose and a brush. Citrus degreaser does the chain when required. The shitshifter I got in a Mucoff Xmas gift box thing does a great job of cleaning my van however. Don't think I'd be brave enough to put it on my car.

The £1 bike stuff I got doesn't seem to have any cleaning power! Fenwicks from now on...

Aldi currently have caravan cleaner for a few quid a litre. Seen it recommended before so picked up a couple of bottles on Saturday.

Heavily concentrated apparently so should work out more economical than Poundland - plus of course it can be used stronger if needed.

Hope it actually works!

TBH - I've never had any problems with plain old soap and hot water, what's the advantage of these cleaners then?

I tried soap and water but the lumps of palmolive stuck in my chain seem to interfere with the shifting a bit.

Most washes you don't need to touch the bike at all. Rinse bike, spray on, rinse off. Fenwicks neat on the drivetrain and you're done.

If it contains

Trisodium nitrilotriacetate

It's the same as muc off at a 1-5% concentration. It's also called Traffic Film remover. Our chem supplier gives us 5 litre bottles free of charge.

Don't use muc off or any shit like that on youre bike, it slowly eats it alive. also will make the warranty on fox fork invalid. 🙁
