i managed to get some 4720 hydraulic levers for my old dropper bike that is post mount, so
can you recommend which calipers to go for please?
dont want to pay £60 for the RS785 road specific ones, MTB ones work ok ?

Black / easiest to fit (hose wise) / best quality / lowest price tradeoff. / any to avoid.
ice tech worth the extra?
seems a dizzy array of calipers at the £12-30 pricepoint / with free levers/hoses thrown in at wiggle/crc

they all seem to run on Bo1s (the smaller pad)

BR-MT200 Brake Caliper
SM-BH59 Brake Hose //B03S Resin Pad

-----
BR-MT400 Brake Caliper
SM-BH59 Brake Hose // Resin pad b01S as standard

-----
BR-MT410 [Deore/icetech] Brake Caliper [icetech, oneway bleeding]
SM-BH59-JK-SS Brake Hose // B03S Resin Pad
https://bike.shimano.com/en-EU/product/component/deore-m4100/BR-MT410.html
-----
BR-M446 Front or Rear Brake Caliper
SM-BH59 Brake Hose // B01S resin pad only
https://bike.shimano.com/en-EU/product/component/alivio-t4000/BR-M446.html

anything else i need to watch out for? ie front or rear specific only.
the levers are BH90 fitment, which i guess is the same as the MT410's MT400 calipers

Any of those will do. The BH90/BH59 fitment is just down to the insert you use in the end of the hose, the olive and compression screw/bolt thing are the same at the calliper and internally the same at the lever so either hose will work with any of the levers and callipers with olive compression fittings (i.e. not banjo fit callipers).

More recent road levers used the flange bolt thing to compress the olive but it will still work with either bh59 or bh90, just use the correct insert.

bh59 = brass insert
bh90 = silver insert

the more expensive calipers (I think SLX up) have a different piston material but other than that, the choice is down to pad shape you want (i.e. if you want a common pad with existing MTB brakes0 and how nice you want the finish to be.

thanks for the info @cp
i'm assuming there still arent any adaptors for "flat mount caliper to post mount frame",
as i have 3 flat mount GRX :0(

good point on the finish, the grx400 painted black scrape up so easily
