Hello,
How easy is it to rebuild a front wheel? lacing seems quite straight forward but the tensioning and truing seem trickier. Rim and Hub seem fine, however i am breaking spokes quite regurarly at the moment. Is it likely that when i break the wheel down i will find that the rim will need replacing as well? Could do with not forking out on the expense of a new wheel, when just replacing the spokes seems relatively cheap.
Thanks
loose spokes break. Try tightening them all first.
Wheels are easy to build but require patience. Buy the WheelPro book and you won't go wrong.
Hardest thing is getting the dish, hub flanges are not equidistant from the center of the hub so one side of spokes will be "steeper" than the other, in order to make room for the disc really.
If you do strip the wheel down be careful to keep both sides of spokes separated in case they are different lengths, assuming you are going to re-use them.
