I've got a very specific issue with saddle comfort on my road bike... Ignoring the surgeries (thankfully now fully recovered), I've always got on with Specialized Romin saddles in a 143mm width... I have had my arse measured several times, always comes back with that I should be on a 140-145mm width saddle on a road bike, and Romin's (or similar) were always my preferred choice...
18 months ago, after 4 Bowel Cancer related surgeries, I treated myself to the 3D printed Romin Evo Pro "with Mirror" saddle in 143mm width with Ti rails, thinking this would be the natural progression for more comfort on a shape I've always got on incredibly well with...
Well after 18 months (I don't ride road that often I'll concede, more of an MTBer) and a couple of thousand miles on it, I've had enough! It's just not comfortable, and I don't know why... Maybe my weight (approx 95kg currently) is too much for the off the shelf 3D printed saddle, I don't know.
So has anybody had any experience, good or bad, with a Posedla Joyseat...? I know they're not cheap, but it's one bike (saddles on MTB's are all fine, but I ride in a very different position on them to the road bike) and if it lasts several years and gives the comfort I require, arguably £300 might be money well spent... I know every saddle is unique to the individuals requirements, they use different density of material to provide more or less support for different weights etc...
I know it's not my cycling shorts by the way... Have several pairs of decent shorts (Castelli, Ale, Morvelo, high end DHB) as they're all really comfortable for me elsewhere... It's specifically this saddle! Which isn't helped by the expectations I put on it, I guess...
If anyone could share their experiences, I'd be really grateful... Hoping it's the answer, but I don't want to blow another £300 if it's just going to end up a very heavily customised paperweight, and that at my weight 3D printed saddles just aren't up to the job of supporting my fat ass!
I don't but have thought about it myself, I'd probably do it as part of a bike fit though personally as that way you have more confidence the end result will be correct (not just getting your fit correct to start with but also a fitter that's also a Posedla dealer is going to know more about the impact of the answers to the questions that go along with doing the bum print, as from what I've seen they aren't all obvious which way you should answer).
I actually use a Romin to (and switched to the w/Mirror version last year). I've never found them super comfy but they get less comfy much more slowly during a ride than other saddles I've tried. Although you say you're confident it's not the shorts as they're fine elsewhere, where is elsewhere? If not on long road rides it's a very different comparison, personally I find a significant difference in comfort between my various shorts when using on a road ride, much less so on the MTB). For me the bib shorts I'm wearing determines if I start to get noticeable discomfort after 3-4 hours vs 6-8 so I only wear 3 of the models I have for 6+ hour rides.
What is it about the Romin Mirror you don't like? If it's too soft then people often complain that the Ryet RT03 is noticeably firmer copy. Being a similar weight to you I find that's a good thing and did the Fred on it without any discomfort. If you're near Leeds your welcome to borrow one as I've ended up with 3 of them spread across bikes.

All I know so far is that the saddle width estimated by Posedla is similar to my default (much cheaper) Charge Spoon/ Madison Flux. I'll follow this thread and try to remember to post first impressions...

Yeah I don't think I'd be bothered by saving 60g for another £100, especially not when I'm 95kg anyway! 🤣 Keep us updated with how it goes when it arrives... I don't think it would be worth one on MTB for me, I'm happy with a regular old Romin on my XC MTB for the occasional ride it gets, and my eBike has a Fizik Terra Aidon in a 160mm width, which I've found to be a godsend on a bike with a 78deg seat angle to be honest...

To be honest, I don't actually know, but if I was to guess, then yes it feels a bit soft and unsupportive... I'm not anywhere near Leeds sadly otherwise I'd take you up on the offer, but good to know though... Googling it, it looks an identical shape, and "criticisms" I've seen of other Ryet (and other AliExpress 3D printed saddles) is that they're a lot firmer than 3D saddles from the likes of Spesh and Fizik... Which, as you say, might not be a bad thing given my weight perhaps...

It's been a long time since I've spent more than 4hrs in the saddle to be honest... I agree that yes, if I was comfortable at 3-4hrs but not at 6-8 then that would be a bib issue, but it's inside an hour I'm noticing the discomfort on the Romin Mirror saddle and after a couple of hours, I'm starting to significantly shift around on it!
