No, I'm not even considering buying it before anyone asks! But... I quite like it, kind of grows on you (maybe...) 😆

That is very, very nasty indeed and therefore would slot nicely into your collection.

10 years old and made with carbon fibre wheels. Scary

If i was mentally unsafe, deranged, into bikes and loaded i'd get it.............

Never mind, 3 out of 4 was not bad

The wheels look like carrera wheels from around the same time. It's gor the speed yellow paintwork so it does look porschey

It's gopping though. And it looks heavy

It's uncannily ugly. Like someone set out to design a bike that would appeal to people with more money than sense and no grasp of aesthetics.

It's bugging me as to who made those. Anyway, I'm sure it'd ride like shit but I sort of like it. Not sure about teh yellow though.

A customer of ours had one of those, it weighed over 40lbs IIRC, had a long stem, flat bars, and skinny tyres. Ridiculous BSO. They were about £6000 in the late nineties too!

walleater, IIRC it was built by Votec, little german company who built their own elastomer forks (as used on the porsche bike)?

First STW thread ever that everyone unanimously agrees on? Possibly?

That is one ugly bike, make no mistake, even worse than the contraptions BMW came out with when they had a go at making mountain bikes!

An old boss of mine turned his nose up at my (then) new Spesh Enduro. "Who's Specialized?" he scorned, only to continue "I'd buy it if it had Porsche written on the side".

He would too, idiot.

One of our neighbours has one - he used to work in a Porsche dealer and got it massively discounted. He still rides it but only on the road I think. I don't think it's all that heavy but it certainly has been hit with the gop stick.

Why do Porsche get ugly when they venture off road? Think of their hideous and massively thirsty Cayenne 4X4 (if you must). This is the MTB equivalent.

Jesus.

That thing hit every branch of the ugly tree on the way down, didn't it?

Funny it looks exactly the same design as a £59 halfords apollo, apart from the £59 bike will be easier on the eye!

Despite what he says, after all these comments I have a feeling the bike has psychles name on it.

......and he may even still have the forks to set it off 😉

what munque-chick says, this was built by Votec in Germany, they used to be quite a popular brand there in the late90s/early 00s, then went bust and are now back with a range of bikes that look quite interesting, actually. check this out:
http://www.votec.com/bikeshop/mountainbikes/vxm/1_1.html

that porsche bike, however, is hideous.

Get rid of the yellow bits and stupid wheels and it might look alright.

I like the positioning of the bottle cage, perfect for keeping shit away from the mouthpiece.
