2016 is going to be the year of 29+ for me. Just found these rims:

http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/P-O-G-Rim-DB-X50-29-50mm-wide-45-622-32L-Semi-Fat-Rim-29-PLUS-/391296126577

Not light, but certainly a cheap way into 29+. ERD is even close enough to reuse my existing spokes.
Anyone used them?

Not used them but did spot a 650b+ version there as well, all bases covered, quite a lot cheaper than WTB etc

They could do with a better name

ir-bandito, what did you find the ERD to be? I've seen it listed as 600mm, but i measured it at 606mm. On the point of buying spokes for a build as it's not going to build into an existing Pro2 with Flow.

Dunno - they've not turned up yet. I'll measure when they're here.
I'm replacing a pair of Superstar DS25s which have an ERD of 602mm so I'm hoping to get away with using the same spokes.

Tick. I'll be interested to see how the erd compares to as I'm looking to replace a 650b DS25 with one of these

I have the B+ version. Like the Scrapers they come in at 695g and with the TLR rim profile it´s easy to set them up tubeless by using a slim and light rim tape. So all in all I find them to be reasonably light.

Be prepared that the finish looks a bit cheaper compared to the Scraper and the joint is pinned.
I ordered mine from ridewill.it. They also have the 29+ rims at a better price:
http://www.ridewill.it/p/en/ridewill-bike-abs702100016-rim-mtb-db-x50-29-alloy-32-holes-black/111825/

The ERD of the B+ ,mentioned to be 560mm, was messured without the rim walls and nipples.

Cheers Flows. Shame I missed the Ridewill page when searching, especially as I have a colleague who lives near Como.

I know they're cheap and heavy, but I want to reduce cost as I'm having to buy frameset, rims and tyres in one go. Once I've got them I'll gradually replace and upgrade.

Krampus frame should be with me in a day or two, and I've got a pair of Dirt Wizards on their way too. Should be built up just in time for the thaw...

Cheers bandito.
So you could have got the it even cheaper without the VAT...
Sounds great and I´m stoked to see the Krampus fully built up!
My rims will make a second wheelset for my Fatty to lighten it for bikepacking and summertime riding. Will run a Crux at the front and a Big Daddy at the rear, both from Ridewill, too.

Cheers
Flo

Settled on 604mm for the 29+ rim (from Ridewill). Have ordered spokes based on that, so we'll soon see.

flows/Swayndo - are you saying you've just ordered from Ridewill or ordered and received?
Not come across them at all so just checking on experiences of dealing with them, ordering etc as i think i'm going to go down the same route soon.
cheers
Jim

Interestingly in b+ size they seem to do 40 and 50am rim options but supposedly the same weight.

I've bought tyres from ridewill, super cheap & took 3 days to arrive, those rims are a bargain!

Just a note but they're not tax free to the UK and postage is 14 euros

I bought 2 rims from them and they cost just under £60 delivered. Arrived in a few days.

May buy the B+ ones now.

Got the rims now and have built them up

Few points:

ERD is about 600mm according to my tape measure
Weight is 720g
Spoke holes don't seem to be offset at all
There's a really neat tyre bead ridge
One wrap of 25mm yellow tape and the Dirt Wizards simply popped on

[img] [/img]

The difference this rim makes is amazing.
2.3" Spesh Purgatory on a 25mm Superstar DS25 rim on the left, 3" Dirt Wizard on the 50mm DB-X50 on the right:

Interestingly, outer diameter is about the same.

Can't wait to finish the Krampus build and get them ridden now!

Krampus built:

Quick dash up the road and the wheels feel amazing 🙂
I suspect a longer drag up the road and they may not feel so good...

Thanks for sharing them - very tempted now, assume they built up easily enough then?

Yes, was easy to build. Bit disconcerting not having the spoke holes offset. As the ERD was the same as my previous rims I did a straight spoke transfer but forgot that the extra width of the rim would make this a bit more of a challenge than usual.
Got them nice and straight no probs. Quick test ride on the road and they're fine. Proper shakedown ride tonight, all post back tomorrow

604 ERD was correct for mine (mind to include the spoke heads). Built up easily and the bead of a Bombo seated perfectly, dry with a track pump. One wrap of yellow tape here too.

Waiting on the B+ ones coming from Italy now.

I've just ordered one of the b+ ones in the 50mm width (outer) size. Will report back on it when I have it

muppet! I ordered the heavier, narrower one by mistake so it's only 35mm internal and 844g. Arrrghhhh!

Unlikely to be worth sending it back so not sure what to do with it now. Grrr

Still going strong and survived a thrashing in Hamsterly the other week being thrown down stuff by a mate while I minced down on my Five.
Overall, I'm very impressed.
